Unique San Antonio Cemetery

Our cemetery is unique among San Antonio’s “green” burial services providers.  Nestled in the 246 acre Wildlife Conservation Center, we are San Antonio’s first and only Conservation Burial Ground.  Combined with the rugged Texas landscape, our compassionate and knowledgeable staff honors you, your loved ones, and your family with immediate need and pre-planning support.  In addition, adjacent to the cemetery is a pet cemetery to recognize our treasured extended family.

Furthermore, a Conservation Easement assures the entire Property will be retained “Wild & Whole” in perpetuity.  Specifically, the land remains in its predominant natural, scenic, historical, agricultural, and open space conditions.  In other words, the Conservation Easement prevents any use of the Property that will significantly impair or interfere with the conservation values of the Property.  Therefore, wildlife preservation and management (including aquatic and riparian) and the preservation of all native plants, grasses, trees, and other vegetation.

Conservation Easement

The Conservation Easement’s purpose is to assure that the Property will be retained in perpetuity in its predominant natural, scenic, historic, agricultural and open space condition (including aquatic and riparian), and to prevent any use of the Property that will significantly impair or interfere with the conservation values of the Property, including wildlife preservation and management, and the preservation of all native plants, grasses, trees and other vegetation.

The conservation values of the Property to be preserved through the easement are (1) The undisturbed natural condition of the Property, (2) The natural, scenic, open space, ecological, and educational values; and, (3) The significant habitat for wildlife and plants on the Property.

The 5H Ranch and the surrounding area support a variety of wildlife, and placement of this ranch in a conservation easement will result in an improvement in the quality of habitat available for wildlife, resulting in more diversity and attraction of migratory species moving through the area.

We partner with Green Spaces Alliance.  Their mission is to sustain the natural environment and enhance urban spaces through land conservation, community engagement, and education.

Green Spaces Alliance was formed in 1998 as an urban land trust to serve the citizens of San Antonio and Bexar County. Our work is about people, nature, and connections to the land.  They are committed to San Antonio and the surrounding region, we protect undeveloped land and water resources, nurture and support community gardens, and help students and youth engage with nature through creative arts.

GSA engages and empowers the community by connecting people to one another and to nature.

To date, Green Spaces Alliance has:

  • Protected over 133,000 acres of land over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone
  • Safeguarded 458 additional acres of private property and 123 acres of donated land
  • Fostered over 40 community gardens across San Antonio, and
  • Educated over 3,700 students on the importance and beauty of nature with our Picture Your World Youth Photography Program.

Take a Tour

Take a Tour

If you would like a tour of our cemetery, you can make an appointment and Metha, the Cemetary/5H Ranch Owner will be happy to show you around.

Unbroken Circle Green Cemetery is in a conservation easement with Texas Parks and Wildlife through Green Spaces Alliance.  This means the property will remain essentially as it is today, “wild and whole,” undeveloped and undivided.  There will be no apartments or warehouses suddenly appearing next to your loved one’s gravesite.    During your cemetery tour, Metha will point out the unique flora, fauna, wildlife, and birds that reside there and call it home.  Over 200 species of birds have been identified on the property.
